Boy boy boy

I love lawn mowers and machines that make noise. So I am very excited when Mama wears me on her back and does yard work.

These pictures are for Grandpapa, who really got a kick out of hearing that his 6-months pregnant daughter mowed the lawn with her 18-month-old son on her back. Here, the pregnant belly is visible. Although he missed the lawn mowing, Baba caught the edging and got these pictures.

When Baba got home from work yesterday, I wanted to try on his boots.

It took me several tries, and Baba's help, but I finally got them on.

I am very proud of myself.

They are big boots to fill.

Camping in Ouray

This summer we bought a huge tent so we could all go camping. Last weekend Mama and I went to Ouray to visit Grandpapa Troy, Grammie Lisa, Uncle Jake and Uncle Uncle Dave (that's Mama's uncle).

Uncle Jake built a fire. I knew it was hot and did not go close. However, I was very interested in him chopping wood and I chopped my own wood alongside him.

I love "hiking" in the woods.

Grandpapa and I threw rocks in the river. We could have done that for hours but Mama said it was my nap time.

I loved climbing on the rocks.

Grammie read and sang bedtime stories to me.

Looking cool in my sunglasses.

The next weekend Baba came camping with us. Here we are in the morning sun after climbing on rocks.

Walking through the woods with Baba and Sylvie. I was very interested in the moss on the rocks.

Baba and son.

Grandpapa reading me a story.

After arriving home, Baba cleaned out my car seat. It was sitting in our hallway. I was pretty used to falling asleep in the car during these two trips so I climbed into my seat and fell asleep. Mama wondered why I was so quiet and found me here.

Here is a short video of me giving Baba "zerberts". He always gives them to me and now I know how to give them back.

Fun and chores

Here I am at our neighborhood pool. I love getting in the shallow end with the fountains. I splash and stomp and wave my hands in the fountains. Twice I've plunged in over my head. Mama scooped me right up. I must have held my breath, because I was just fine and ready to go again. I like to play motorboat too. Yesterday, my midwife Bonnie (the woman who delivered me) was at the pool hanging out with us and she took me swimming. I reached out for her right away and let her take me in the deep end.

I love the pool. I usually don't want to leave, but when we leave we get to check our mail. That means I get to hold the key and try to put it in all the keyholes of the rows of boxes. I get very excited and say, "mail...key...door".

I help Mama do the laundry and put the clothes up to dry.

I help Baba shell peas from his garden. Mainly, I eat them.

I help Baba at work. This day I went to work with him while Mama went to the dentist. When she came to pick me up, I was shoveling a huge pile of dirt. It might have been my favorite morning ever. I was covered in dirt. Covered. It was all around my mouth, in my ears, under my nails and it poured out of my diaper when she changed me. Good stuff. The rest of the day I would chant over and over, "Baba...work...shovel...work...Baba..."

Fourth of July camping

We spent the weekend of July 4th camping in Ridgway, Colorado. We finally splurged and bought a big family tent. Car camping is where it's at for us right now. We found a great place on National Forest land and set up the tent. Solomon loved rolling around in the tent, playing hide-and-go-seek behind the door flap and hiking around. Mama and Baba just enjoyed being together, watching Sol and hanging out. What a luxury.

Hanging out by our campsite in overalls and no shirt.

Baba hiked up Hayden trail with me on his back. I slept for a good part of the way. When I was awake, I liked watching Sylvie running the trail and pointing out the trees.

Hanging out in our tent. There is plenty of room to hang out in here!

Rolling around in the tent with Mama and Baba is very fun.
